Mental Health Matters
At Tipton Prevents, we believe that mental health is just as important as physical health, and we are committed to fostering a supportive environment for all members of our community. Our initiatives aim to promote well-being, encourage positive self-talk, and help everyone—no matter their age—better understand and care for their mental health.
We are proud to share the following programs that are making a difference in Tipton County:
“Disconnect to Reconnect” Campaign
In today’s digital age, we are constantly connected to screens. Our “Disconnect to Reconnect” campaign encourages everyone to take a break from technology to focus on their mental health. Whether it’s setting aside time for outdoor activities, reading a book, or simply spending quality time with loved ones, disconnecting from screens allows us to reconnect with ourselves and the people around us.
As part of this initiative, we’ve created a Digital Detox Challenge designed specifically for families. This fun and engaging challenge offers daily activities that help families reduce their screen time while strengthening their bonds. Each day brings a new challenge, encouraging families to spend more time together and create meaningful memories. The goal is to foster healthier relationships with technology, promote quality time with loved ones, and prioritize mental wellness.
Mental Health Library Project
In an effort to make mental health resources more accessible to everyone, we’ve launched the Mental Health Library Project by partnering with the Tipton County Public Library and the Munford Memorial Public Library. Together, we are building collections of books focused on mental health, emotional well-being, and self-care for all ages—including children, teens, and adults.
All Tipton County residents are eligible to apply for a free library card to check out these valuable resources. The collection offers tools to manage stress, build resilience, and deepen understanding of mental health—supporting more open and informed conversations among individuals and families.
We’re also excited to share that we’ve partnered with Drug Free Fayette to establish a mental health library in Fayette County, TN, further expanding access to important resources and support across the region.
"Be Kind to Your Mind" Campaign
Positive affirmations have the power to shift perspectives, build confidence, and support emotional well-being. Our “Be Kind to Your Mind” campaign harnesses this power by spreading uplifting, encouraging messages across multiple platforms. Bright, bold affirmations can be seen on billboards across Tipton County, offering daily reminders of self-worth, resilience, and kindness. These messages are also featured on all county school buses, turning everyday transportation into moving sources of encouragement for students and families. The campaign continues online through uplifting social media content and in schools, where monitors display rotating affirmations throughout the day to promote positive thinking and emotional well-being. This county-wide initiative aims to create a culture of kindness, boost self-esteem, and normalize mental health conversations wherever people live, work, study, and connect.
At Tipton Prevents, we are committed to making mental health a priority in our community. Through these initiatives and more, we aim to create a supportive environment where everyone has the tools and resources they need to thrive. Together, we can break the stigma around mental health and build a stronger, healthier Tipton County.
Join us in promoting well-being, spreading positivity, and taking care of our mental health—because mental health matters!
