About Us
At Tipton Prevents, we believe that prevention is the most powerful tool we have to create a healthier future.
We are a non-profit coalition made up of passionate individuals, local leaders, organizations, and public agencies united by a common goal: to prevent substance misuse and promote positive mental health across Tipton County. By identifying gaps in our community and working collaboratively to fill them, we focus on real, long-term solutions that start before problems begin.
Our work is driven by evidence-based strategies and community involvement. From youth engagement and parent education to policy change and public awareness, we use a comprehensive, environmental approach to reduce underage drinking, tobacco use, marijuana use, and prescription drug misuse.
We also know that mental health plays a vital role in prevention. That’s why promoting mental wellness—through education, resource sharing, and stigma reduction—is now a core part of what we do. Helping people feel supported, connected, and resilient is essential to building a community where everyone can thrive.
Since our founding, Tipton Prevents has helped secure more than $3 million in funding for prevention efforts, and more importantly, we’ve seen a drop in youth substance misuse—a sign that change is happening.
We’re proud of how far we’ve come, and we’re committed to continuing the work—together.
